Police Clearance And Citizenship Certificate Fees Have Increased. Bangladesh government has recently announced an increase in fees for a variety of official services, such as police clearance certificates, dual citizenship certificates, Bangladesh citizenship certificates, and permanent residence facilities. Foreign nationals who wish to regularize their stay in Bangladesh must also pay increased fees.

Two circulars issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs indicate that the new fee structure represents significant increases over previous rates. Streamlining administrative processes and aligning service charges with economic conditions is the goal of these updates.

According to the circular issued on March 15, 2011, the fee for a police clearance certificate was 500 Taka. According to the latest revision, this fee has been tripled to 1,500 Taka. People who need police verification for travel, employment, or other official purposes may be affected by this increase.

Foreign-based Bangladeshis seeking dual citizenship certificates will now have to pay 10,000 Taka, double the previous fee of 5,000 Taka. Bangladeshi expatriates seeking foreign citizenship while maintaining their Bangladeshi nationality will be affected by this change.

Bangladesh citizenship certificates now cost significantly more. Formerly set at 4,000 Taka, it has now been increased fivefold to 20,000 Taka. In addition, those who wish to renounce their Bangladeshi citizenship must now pay 20,000 Taka instead of 5,000 Taka.

It has been revised from 7,000 Taka to 15,000 Taka for individuals seeking permanent residence rights in Bangladesh. As a result, the cost of obtaining an adoption certificate has increased fivefold, from 1,000 Taka to 5,000 Taka. Families planning legal adoption procedures in Bangladesh may be affected by this increase.
